The envelope bears a 12 Reichspfennig Deutsches Reich stamp and a clearly dated Berlin Charlottenburg postmark of July 22, 1941, placing it just one month after the start of Germanys invasion of the Soviet Union (Operation Barbarossa). The envelope also has a receiving postmark on the reverse, documenting its successful delivery.
