The rod is constructed from madake cane, creating a light and medium progressive action, aided by his use of a carbon and bamboo spigot ferrule system, allowing the rod taper to flex consistently through the ferrule sections. Harada san points out that madake cane has very fine fibers, resulting in a slower action, yet
