The aircraft was delivered to Singapore Airlines in 1979 (as the 9V SGJ) and began its career in scheduled operations. After a short service with Alaska Airlines in 1985, it was extensively converted into a VIP aircraft. The cabin was given exclusive furnishings with 17 VIP seats, a private sleeping suite, a shower
