Shaker-esque 19th Century Folk Art Cigar Box Wood Spice or Sewing Box with Two Drawers religious sampler Made by G&J Gem LockBased in the cigar box wood from which it was very lovingly constructed, I believe this little chest dates to the late 19th century, and I find it a complete charmer of a thing with "Selection" arching across the top, terrific faceted form to the top compartment, which opens to reveal cloth hinges to either side of an ivy vine. Two drawers below with original wooden handles, and scalloped edges along the bottom. Feels Shaker meets tramp art to me,
