complete with an interior shelf and a bright pink curdoroy lining

and were found in a Marshall Fields cardboard jewelry box

I believe these date to the Civil War era, and are likely a mixed pair one is a bit grayer in tone and the other flecked a bit more brown but they are of the same size, just shy of 1 2" across on each side, and very lovely together. Very good antique condition.
